THROWBACK TO NEOCON 2019!

neocon: an annual event as synonymous as may is to indy race fans, as june is to the midwest design community. for over 50 years, Neocon has brought the commercial design world together to discover the latest and greatest from the industry. while neocon is not being held in person this year, it is being re-imagined as a digital event, we can enjoy from our homes.

we wanted to take this time to reminisce on our very own 2019 trip to the windy city, when we last experienced neocon together. below are a few of our favorite inspirations holding true in 2020 (and maybe beyond)!

1. NAVY

just as pantone and sherwin williams selected blues as the color of the year, we see it continuing into 2021! navy is enhancing the elegant and contemporary spaces we love.

2. WARM, LIGHT WOODS

this Scandinavian inspiration provides warmth on floors, ceilings, and in between, we do not see this element going away anytime soon.

3. SUSTAINABLE MODERN DESIGN

companies are continuing to review their sourcing, manufacturing and products to be more sustainable, as more and more consumers request this. we are seeing numerous and exciting products with low environmental impact, made from reused materials.

4. NATURAL ELEMENTS

not only is greenery here to stay, we love the idea of natural materials (like the natural cane below) and organic elements being brought to the interior.

5. BOLD & COLORFUL STATEMENTS

bring on all of the color and playful design elements! maximalism (more patterns, colors, and accessories) calls for personalization over perfectionism, and we love it!

6. FIGURES & LINE ART

this graphic art trend is in every aspect of design from accessories to wallcovering and beyond. don’t tell us you haven’t seen the popular face line art gracing every surface imaginable!

7. RESIDENTIAL MODERN

will we see more #WFH and office working hybrids? more than ever employees will want to feel comfortable working no matter where they log their hours, further blurring the line between work and home.

we cannot wait to see what neoconnect has in store for us!
